The Sr Program Manager, Data and AI Governance is primarily responsible for supporting and developing our company's AI governance program, including assisting the business in adherence to AI governance regulations through the development of SOPs, proper AI governance controls, training, AI risk assessments, and cross-functional business initiatives related to AI governance. Through your analysis, you will be delivering guidance to ensure experiences are consistent with our company's AI governance principles and applicable law. You will be encouraging AI governance best practices through consistent analysis, feedback, and follow-through with a variety of internal teams. You will also be monitoring remediation activities with guidance. You will manage intake for the team and contribute to team process improvements. You will attend meetings, monitor systems, review documents, and liaise with other team members to maintain a portfolio of development efforts requiring AI governance engagement. This role is critical in achieving compliance objectives relating to AI governance and keeping leadership informed of key developments and issues. You will work closely with other internal stakeholders, including Legal, Security, Technology, and business leads to research, develop, and implement AI governance processes, procedures, and use cases.

You will also be a member of the privacy team and have responsibilities related to HealthEquity's day to day privacy operations. This could include incident management, privacy impact assessments, governance efforts, and providing guidance and education companywide. You will work on privacy objectives relating to the Company's products and provide strategic and tactical privacy guidance to business leaders. You will advise on privacy and security and be engaged in keeping up to date with the evolving landscape related to data, privacy, and cybersecurity.

What you'll be doing

    Develop and implement comprehensive AI governance frameworks to support ethical and responsible AI use across the organization.
  • Conduct thorough AI risk assessments, identifying potential legal and regulatory compliance issues and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, legal, compliance, and our product teams, to ensure the seamless integration of AI governance with enterprise-wide strategies.
  • Manage and refine the processes underpinning the Responsible AI Policy, ensuring its principles are effectively communicated and adhered to.
  • Ensure continuous adherence to ethical AI principles, data privacy regulations, and risk management practices, updating policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Facilitate training and awareness programs for stakeholders at all levels on AI governance, ethical AI practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI governance frameworks, making adjustments based on evolving technologies, business needs, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AI governance, providing guidance and advice to senior management on best practices and emerging trends.
  • Manage AI governance and retention policies, identifying and implementing key performance indicators for sensitive AI identification and risk management.
  • Manage the identification and rollout of scalable innovative technologies to support enterprise AI governance, including developing usage policies and guidelines, audit, and control processes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Provide privacy guidance to product, business, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Refine and enhance company-wide privacy compliance operating processes.
  • Govern your work with documented goals, activities, and metrics, including metrics that measure and improve the effectiveness of privacy controls.
  • Identify potential privacy and information security risks and provide practical risk-mitigation solutions.
  • Negotiate data protection and security agreements with customers, partners, and other third parties.

What you will need to be successful

  • J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school preferred
  • 5+ years of strong privacy experience with relevant experience in AI and privacy compliance operations
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable compliance operations with proven track record of success
  • Expertise in privacy issues impacting AI, the cybersecurity and privacy industry including self-regulatory guidelines, privacy issues and legislation, and global privacy laws & regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other data protection frameworks)
  • Experience collaborating with key product stakeholders
  • Significant experience advising on a range of privacy issues, regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple, conflicting priorities while managing a substantial workload and client expectations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, business judgment, flexibility, analytical skills, and attention to detail

Salary Range
$109500.00 To $150,000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
